8th Annual West Coast Formation Clinic Hosted by the Golden Gate Wing of the CAF and Canon Aviation Insurance, the 8th annual TRARON Formation Clinic was considered a great success by the organizers during the weekend of May 20-22, 2005. Held again at Castle Airport (ex-AFB) near Merced, 58 warbird aircraft were registered, with twice that number of pilots, receiving training or riding as check pilots. I was given the opportunity to cover this event by the Pacific Flyer, for a formation flight of four P-51 Mustangs, with special guest Gen. Chuck Yeager flying one of them.
