April 28-29, Half Moon Bay Airport, Pacific Coast Dream Machines • Now a two-day event, aircraft, automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, military vehicles, engines, and tractors, all mixed into one big event with over 2000 machines on display. May 2012 May ?, - SAH Board Meeting • Veronico Residence • General membership welcome • Call for time and directions. May 19, San Martin, CA. - Wings of History Air Museum Open House • This has become an annual spring time fly-in and barbecue at the museum. May 12-13, Schellville Airport, Sonoma, CA, Display Day • Hangars open from noon to 4 pm for your viewing pleasure. This small airport has hangars filled with Antiques, Classics and a few Warbirds, worthy of a visit. For a look at the aircraft of Schellville click here. May 5-6, Chino Airport, CA, Planes of Fame Air Show • This is the largest warbird air show on the west coast with some of the rarest aircraft anywhere, flying in the show. This show needs no introduction, visit their website for more details on the blue link. May 26-27, Hollister Airport, CA, Hollister Air Show • Memorial Day Weekend has an excellent show in Northern CA with an air show being hosted at this Airport. Filling the hole that the Watsonville Air Show left by moving to September, this event has a good lineup of performers and displays. Check out their website for more details.
June 2012 June 2, SAH General Meeting • See Touch & Go Newsletter or follow this link for more info: See newsletter Vol. 7, No.3 for details June 8-10, Yuba County Airport, Marysville, CA, Golden West EAA Regional Fly-In • Thirty Seconds Over Marysville. This year they will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Doolittle Raiders, Camp Beale, and Marysville Army Airfield. Look for an air show with lots of experimentals, home and kit-built planes, along with la good number of warbirds. Workshops and exhibitors will also compliment this show. July 2012 July 11-15, Arlington Airport, Washington, Arlington 2012 • Northwest EAA Fly-In and Sport Aviation convention July 14-15, Schellville Airport, Sonoma, CA, Display Day • Hangars open from noon to 4 pm for your viewing pleasure. July 23-29, Wittman Airport, Wisconsin, 2011 Air Adventure Oshkosh • This is the largest of all the aviation events that you'll ever visit. See the link for all the information.
August 2012 Aug. 11-12, Schellville Airport, Sonoma, CA, Display Day • Hangars open from noon to 4 pm for your viewing pleasure. Aug. 4-5, Willow Run Airport, MI, Thunder Over Michigan • Mustang Mania - Over 25 P-51 Mustangs will gather in a rare performance as they display their speed, power and agility near Detroit. This is one of the country's premier warbird air displays, which includes a large collection of rare aircraft. For pictures from the 2006 show, click here: TOM2006 . Aug. 18-19(?), Sonoma County Airport, Santa Rosa, CA, Wings Over Wine Country Air Show • This is the Pacific Coast Air Museums annual Open House, with the museums collection of aircraft on display, and many open cockpits for visitors to sit in. Antiques, Warbirds, and Contemporary aircraft will perform fly-bys and also park on the ramp for up-close viewing. There are usually aerobatic performers and current military demonstrations along with the C-17 Globemaster Static Display and Aerial Demonstration
September 2012 Sept. 1-2 (?) Watsonville Airport, CA, Watsonville Fly-In and Air Show • The Watsonville Fly-In Air Show is one of the premier flying events in Northern California and provides a wide array of activities for the entire family with a wide assortment of aircraft, food booths, aviation merchandise, fireworks, world-class air show performers and static displays. Pictures from 2006 at: SAH WTSN. Sept. 7, SAH Board Meeting • Morgan Residence • Santa Clara • General membership welcome • Call for time and directions. Sept. 8-9, Mather Airport, CA, California Capitol Airshow • Located at the ex-AFB, this show will feature the USAF Thunderbirds. Watch their website for further details. Sept. 12-16, Stead Field, Reno, Nevada, 49th National Championship Air Races • Air Racing, Air Racing and more Air Racing, not to mention the air shows in between. Rolls Royce, Reno Air Racing Foundation and the National Aviation Hall of Fame invite those restoring our nation's aviation treasures to become part of the National Aviation Heritage Invitational competitions.
