May 2008

May 17-18, Chino Airport, Ca, Planes of Fame Air Show • This is the largest warbird air show on the west coast with some of the rarest aircraft anywhere, flying in the show.   This show needs no introduction, visit their website for more details on the blue link.

May 23-25, Watsonville Airport, CA, Watsonville Fly-In and Air Show • The Watsonville Fly-In Air Show is one of the premier flying events in Northern California and provides a wide array of activities for the entire family with a wide assortment of aircraft, food booths, aviation merchandise, fireworks, world-class air show performers and static displays. Now going into its 43rd year, the Fly-In & Air Show enjoys a reputation of being the best of its type in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Pictures from 2006 at: SAH WTSN.

June 2008

June 1st, SAH Board Meeting • Veronico Residence • San Carlos • General membership welcome • Call for time and directions.

June 6-7, Merced Airport, CA, *CANCELLED*, 51st Annual Merced West Coast Antique Fly-In • CANCELLED Pictures from 2006 at: SAH MCD.

June 6-8, Yuba County Airport, Marysville, CA, Golden West EAA Regional Fly-In • This will be a large gathering and air show with lot's of experimentals, home and kit-built planes, not to mention a big collection of warbirds. June 14-15, Schellville Airport, Sonoma, CA, Display Day • Hangars open from noon to 4 pm for your viewing pleasure. June  21, San Carlos Airport, Vertical Challenge • Helicopters, Helicopters, and more Helicopters. The Hiller Aviation Museum is hosting it's eighth Annual Helicopter Air Show. Pictures from 2006 at: SAH HVC.

June  28, South Lake Tahoe Airport, Lake in the Sky Air Show • The Lake Tahoe Airport’s 50th Anniversary! Join us in the celebration - at the biggest and best air show in the High Sierra! See the AV-8B Harrier, V-22 Osprey, F/A-18 Hornet and more!

July 2008

July 9-13, Arlington Airport, Washington, Arlington 2008 • Northwest EAA Fly-In and Sport Aviation convention

July 12-13, Schellville Airport, Sonoma, CA, Display Day • Hangars open from noon to 4 pm for your viewing pleasure. July 19 (rough guess), Colusa airport, CA, 12th Annual Old Time Fly-In (no link) • Free pancake breakfast for arriving pilots and passengers. This is an annual low-key event that highlights the day with a huge raffle, lunch, judging and trophys.  7:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m.  Contact Harry Krug or call (530) 458-0580.  Pictures from 2005 at: Colusa2005.

July 28-Aug. 3, Wittman Airport, Wisconsin, Air Adventure Oshkosh 2008 • This is the largest of all the aviation events that you'll ever visit. See the link for all the information.

August 2008

Aug. 9-10, Schellville Airport, Sonoma, CA, Display Day • Hangars open from noon to 4 pm for your viewing pleasure. Aug. 9-10, Willow Run Airport, MI, Thunder Over Michigan • P-47 Thunderbolts and heavy bombers will highlight this warbird show near Detroit.  This is one of the country's premier warbird air displays, which includes a large collection of rare aircraft. Aug. 16-17, Sonoma County Airport, Santa Rosa, CA, Wings Over Wine Country Air Show • This is the Pacific Coast Air Museums annual Open House, with the museums collection of aircraft on display, and many open cockpits for visitors to sit in. Antiques, Warbirds, and Contemporary aircraft will perform fly-bys and also park on the ramp for up-close viewing. September 2008

Sept. 10-14, Stead Field, Reno, Nevada, 45th National Championship Air Races • Air Racing, Air Racing and more Air Racing, not to mention the air shows in between. Information: (775) 972-6663

Sept. 19-21, Lakeport, Clearlake, CA, 29th Annual Clearlake Splash-In • All weekend long, Seaplanes and Amphibians. You can expect to see Grummans, Republics, Lakes, Cessnas, Pipers and deHavillands. Pictures from 2006 at: SAH Splash In.

Sept. 27-28, Salinas Airport, CA California International Airshow • All weekend long; Friday Night Fireworks, Military and Civilian Static displays, along with lots of aerobatics.
