Our second general meeting of 2018 was held on April 7, 2018, at one of our favorite venues, Back Forty Texas BBQ in Pleasant Hill, California. It was a successful,
well-attended event with more than forty members and guests at the meeting. The guest speaker, David Finnern, who talked about "Exploring Aviation's Lost History",
made a presentation that was both interesting and educational. As always the meal at Back Forty Texas BBQ was delicious and filling. For those who were not able
to attend, there is a recap of the meeting on Page 4 in this newsletter.
I would like to take a moment to again thank the members of the board of directors and the volunteers who helped put the meeting on and for all that they do during the year.
A majority of the members of the board have full-time jobs and give their personal time to the society. This is done out of a love of avia-tion and aviation history in
particular. Please keep this in mind when interacting with your board members and our other volunteers, either in person at meetings, or in correspondence.
It was noted at the April meeting that Touch & Go editor Betty Veronico is in need of material for our 48-page Summer Newsletter. The newsletter is written for our members,
by our members, and each year the variety of contributions is what makes it so interesting.
If you have anything you would like to contribute please contact Betty at Betty@sfahistory.org (please copy her email address). And again, guidelines for submitting newsletter material
can be found here: www.sfahistory.org/guidelines.htm
Our next general meeting will be at another favorite venue, in Mountain View. The meeting will be on Saturday, June 2, and SAH member Ron Paliughi (SAH 270) will talk about
"Finding, Restoring and Flying Vintage Warbirds." Details about the meeting and Ron's presentation can be found on Page 3 of this newsletter. I am really looking forward to it!
Our next general meeting will be on April 7, in Pleasant Hill. See you then, and please bring a friend!
