Patriots Jet Team Facilities Tour Byron Aiport, Calif. Jan. 13, 2018

The Society for Aviation History met at the Byron airport to tour the home facility of the Patriots Jet Team on Saturday, January 13th, 2018.
The Patriots fly beautifully maintained Aero L-39 Albatros jet aircraft in a show similar to the United States Navy Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds.
They had a hangar full of aircraft of which we were allowed to crawl all over on static display, including their eight L-39 Albatros. Thanks to Randy Howell,

Our Warbird Restoration Tour Salinas - April 16, 2016

Members and guests of The Society for Aviation History were
given an excellent tour on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Airmotive Specialties, Inc. in Salinas. Owners Dave and Mari Teeters took time out from their busy day, to give us a tour of their warbird and aircraft
restoration facility. We had the opportunity to see work being done on three P-51D Mustangs, along with a Yak-11, and a Beech AT-11. There were several other aircraft and helicopters also receiving maintenance
work. Following an excellent lunch over at the
airport restaurant, The Landing Zone, Teeters invited us to return to the shop, to watch Michael Malcolm depart in his freshly annualed Mustang; it is painted to honor Capt. Charles
E. "Chuck" Weaver as Weaver's Nude. This P-51D was previously owned by Lefty Gardner and used to race at the National Reno Air Races and wore the paint scheme Thunderbird # 25.
