The votes are in and I'm pleased to announce the Board of Directors for 2020 is set. Our Elections Committee Chair, Bruce Bengston, tallied the ballots and formally
declared the composition of the new board at our holiday meeting on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Redwood City. Bengston reported that all
of the directors from 2019 would return for 2020, and the new board quickly agreed upon a couple of noteworthy changes to the assignment of officers. Ron Close would
replace Betty Veronico as Secretary, and I would replace Ron as President.
Betty was exceptional during her many years as Secretary. She contributed a tremendous amount of her time to the many tasks required to make the society function smoothly,
and her desire to step back from the responsibilities of secretary and primarily focus on the society's newsletter is well deserved. With the change in the secretarial
position, there will be a new mailing address. The new address, effective immediately, is PO Box 5344, Petaluma CA 94955.
Ron inherited the role of president in early 2019 after the unexpected and sad passing of Rick Turner. Ron immediately demonstrated he was the right person for job by
transitioning our organization through a difficult time with skill and aplomb. He has a proven track record of success and he'll be great as secretary.
For me, it's a distinct honor to serve as the newly elected president and I approach this role with immense respect for the excellence of our past presidents -
Nick Veronico, Norm Jukes, Alice Hendricks, Rick Turner, and Ron Close. They've all been an inspiration and my goal is to continue their legacy of tireless dedication
to our organization.
In closing, I'd like to thank everyone for the generosity in contributing to our holiday toy drive. Again, this year, we had a tremendous collection of gifts for underprivileged teens.
Dave Osgood
Past President
