Merced West Coast Antique Fly-In 2004 Sponsored by the Merced Chamber of Commerce, the 47th Annual Fly-In was a three-day event, held June 4-6, at the Merced Airport. With a new twist, they set up a warbird parking area where the rows of Stearmans usually are, although by late morning, the area still had a lot of space and they filled the area with arriving antiques. Frank Shelling with his Curtiss JN-4H Jenny took top honors with the Mayors Trophy. The overview pictures that I took were around 2:30pm on Saturday, so a number of planes had left by then. Some of our members in attendance included Bill Conwell (NC 331) with his Beech T-34, Frank and Gayle Womack (NC ) with their Waco AQC, John and Erline Goodman (NC 289) with their Cessna 182, Norm Jukes (NC 193) and Earl Holmquist (NC 47) with their cameras. If you have any additional information or corrections for these pictures, let me know. There is text attached to all the photographs. All photographs were taken by Roger Cain (NC 148).
