The 25th Annual Nevada County Air Fest 2002 Held at the Nevada County Airport in Grass Valley, CA, on July 5-6, this airport makes for a nice backdrop for aviation photography. The fly-in has a large array of warbirds, classics and experimentals on display. With a tightly packed ramp, aircraft arriving too late in the morning found themselves parking with the transient/non-show aircraft. Plans for a water drop by the Department of Forestry aircraft were scrapped due to an actual fire call, but the planes still made some nice passes afterwards. Fly-bys were performed throughout the day with demos by the experimentals, followed up by the warbirds. For my first visit to this show, I was very impressed with the display.
