Seaplane Splash-In 2004 The 25th Anniversary of the Seaplane Splash-In at Clear Lake CA was celebrated with a good turnout of aircraft and great weather during the weekend of Sept. 24-26. Sponsored by NorCal Aviation and Strangebirds Inc., the event was based in Lakeport at the Skylark Shores Motel and Natural High School playing field. The most numerous of aircraft were Consolidated Lakes, with seven of the type in attendance. A special attraction this year was a Vertigo Simulator and a roll-over-cage for emergency training, brought by the Sacramento Flights District Office. Other than the Seabees and a couple of the Grumman aircraft, I've tried not to duplicate the planes that I posted on the webpage from last year. Once again William and Tillie Larkins (NC 5 & 306) kept me company in the morning as the aircraft arrived. As always, if you have any additional information or corrections for these pictures, let me know. All photographs were taken by Roger Cain (NC 148). These photographs posted on 12-19-04 |
