All Red Star 4 The fourth annual All Red Star weekend was held at Castle Airport (ex-Castle AFB) during May 11-15, 2005 and was once again considered a success. Besides having a good fun weekend of flying and getting together with other pilots with the same types of Eastern Block aircraft, the main goal here is to train to fly formation and receive your FAST (Formation and Safety Training) card. FAST is an FAA-mandated program to certify pilots to fly close and safely in FAA waivered air space at air shows across the country. I was only able to visit on Saturday and counted 58 eastern block aircraft on the ramp. This is the most colorful aircraft event that I attend, and try not to duplicate the same aircraft each year on the website. If you have any additional information or corrections for these pictures, let me know. There is text attached to all the photographs. All photographs were taken by Roger Cain (NC 148).
