President’s November 2006 Message:

This is your last newsletter for this year. Reflecting back on the year, I think it has been excellent.  I believe, by your strong support you have shown by attending our general meetings, side tours, and feedback on the newsletter, that you all agree.  Our last meeting drew 83, and from the conversations I heard afterwards everyone seemed very pleased with this meeting.  Other good news is that our membership total has grown this year to more than 150, and we will end the year financially healthy.  We do this at only $20 per year dues!

We have 2007 Board elections coming up and you will be receiving your ballots in the mail soon.  I hope you will consider running for a board seat.  To do so, contact our Secretary Betty Veronico immediately in order to get your name on this year's ballot.  If not this year, please give serious thought to running for the board next year.  Your board does work hard throughout the year to bring the services and events that you enjoy, and we all find it very rewarding to serve such a fine group.

Our last meeting will be on Saturday Dec. 2. Program Director Nick Veronico has again lined up an outstanding speaker.  He is Lt. Col. Bruce Hinds (USAF-ret.), a prototype test pilot on the Northrop B-2 "Spirit" Air Force Stealth Bomber.  As we all know, this aircraft is a very exotic design and, while it is a long distant cousin, it comes from the Northrop Co. that designed the XB-35 and XB-49 Flying Wing aircraft of the mid/late 1940s.  Be sure to get you reservations in early and bring a friend to see this exciting program.  I am looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting. Happy Holidays to everyone.

 -Norm Jukes
